EARLIER: Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) President Federico Laxa joined Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta in inspecting the construction of the Port Town Housing Project in Barangay 20, Parola, Tondo, Manila.

A development under President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, the project being implemented by SHFC will feature five 16-story residential buildings, offering more than 2,000 housing units in its first phase.

During the site visit, Secretary Acuzar emphasized the need to fast-track the development of the project to provide dignified, permanent housing for informal settler families in both the formal and informal sectors.

President Laxa reaffirmed SHFC’s strong support for the initiative and underscored the agency’s commitment to providing inclusive and sustainable housing solutions for Filipino families.

The Port Town development is one of SHFC’s ongoing 4PH projects aimed at helping close the country’s housing gap. This initiative is being spearheaded by the Resettlement Services Group, under the leadership of SHFC Vice President Bob Flores.
